Lauren Reeves
I am a graphic design teacher and yearbook advisor at Wimberley High School in Wimberley, Texas. I also work part-time as an Instructional Resource Specialist for SMART Technologies and a freelance graphic designer. My professional focus lies in leveraging technology to enhance learning experiences while fostering a love of learning and literacy.

My journey in education began in 2006 when I embarked on my teaching career at Lehman High School in Kyle, Texas, utilizing my BBA in Marketing to teach business-related subjects. It was during this tenure that my passion for design flourished. In 2010, I transitioned to teaching graphic design and illustration techniques, harnessing Adobe software programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to empower students creatively. Over the years (2006-2017) at Lehman High School, I acquired certifications in Business Education, Technology Applications, Marketing Education, and Art Education. Additionally, I spearheaded initiatives such as a recycling program and a screen printing program while serving as the Career and Technology Department Head.

In August 2017, I decided to relocate to Wimberley and join Wimberley High School, where I continue to teach Graphic Design while also taking on the roles of yearbook advisor, web admin, and various sponsorships. As a web admin, I maintain the school website and communicate with parents through a weekly newsletter. Moreover, I actively engage with students as the Junior Class sponsor, Prom Committee sponsor, UIL Journalism sponsor, and National Technical Honor Society sponsor.

In 2021, amidst my full-time teaching responsibilities, I graduated from UTRGV with an M.Ed. degree in Educational Technology, solidifying my expertise in integrating technology into educational practices. Recognizing the symbiotic relationship between educational technology and the school librarian's role, I subsequently enrolled in courses to gain my School Librarian Certification. Educational technology and the district librarian work hand in hand to facilitate information literacy, digital citizenship, and access to a vast array of digital resources. This combined expertise allows me to bridge the gap between traditional library services and cutting-edge educational technology initiatives, ensuring that students have access to the resources and skills they need to thrive in the digital age.

This electronic portfolio serves as a reflection of my progress within the M.Ed. program, highlighting my growth and development in Educational Technology and my ongoing journey to enhance library services through technology integration. I have organized this portfolio into five distinct sections, each containing valuable insights, lessons learned, and examples of how technology can enrich educational experiences. As an advocate for accessibility, this portfolio is designed using the Wix Website Editor, ensuring compatibility across various devices.
